Business Profile

The company was established in 1980 (Government Gazette 719/1.4.80) in Athens, 2 - 4 Nikitara street. Upon decision of the General Shareholders Meeting on 11/30/1993 the company headquarters were transferred to N. Psychiko, 1 Mantzarou street. Since 2000 (decision of the General Shareholders Meeting of 06/30/2000) the company is relocated in Athens, 109-111 Mesogeion Avenue. ATTI-KAT is registered to the Corporate Registry (no 13870/06/A/86/13) and operates under Greek legislation (Law 2190/20) and the respective regulations of the Athens Stock Exchange and Capital Markets Committee.

The company duration has been settled for a 50-year period, until 04/01/2030 having renewal potentiality upon decision of the Shareholders Meeting.

  1. The undertaking and construction of various projects both in the Public and the Private sector in Greece and abroad (mainly in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Nigeria etc.) Most of these projects require the possession of a special degree and credentials, of level E' and above.
  2. Various construction works publicly or privately held, on behalf of the company or third parties, on exchange basis as well as sale or lease of the above properties.
  3. The technical and construction study of any kind of technical project, tourism development and sale of the relative land, its exploitation on behalf of the company or third parties or the exploitation of hotel, tourism and mining units in general.
  4. The extraction, processing, transportation, production, transformation and trade of inert material, made of solid rock, suitable for customized use, such as non skid pavements, railway metal and other inert material and constructional rock. Furthermore, the extraction, process, transformation, and trading of industrial minerals, marbles and minerals in general. The establishment of sales and marketing network of the above in the domestic and in foreign countries.
  5. The study, design, construction, elaboration of aeolian, hydro electric, solar geothermal, biomass and production of any kind of energy production and utilization and the derivatives from renewable energy sources, remote heating, local net heating, desalination and utilization of the produced desalinated water.
  6. The operation of any related commercial and industrial association.
  7. The representation of similar or related domestic or foreign companies and the execution of any other activity similar to the company's activity.
  8. The conduct of any business transaction and the undertaking of any activity (commercial or not, industrial, financial, capital or related to real estate or other assets) that is either directly or indirectly related to the company?s objectives mentioned above or based upon the judgment of the company?s officer in charge that such activity may or will be beneficial to the company?s primary objectives as described in the present article.

For the purpose of achieving its primary objective the company may: a) participate in any type of corporate or non corporate business of similar or related to the above mentioned company objectives, b) to establish and participate in consortiums and to collaborate with any type of public or private entity, c) to represent any domestic or foreign company with common or relevant business activity, d) and to provide guarantees to third parties in favor of companies or consortium corporations to which the company in an associate member of or providing various insurances.

Since its establishment ATTI-KAT S.A. has been actively involved in the construction sector. It possesses E class degree valid of all categories of construction projects (highest classification in Greece) that enables the company to participate in auctions with the purpose of undertaking projects both in the public and private sector. According to the analysis by the National Statistical Service of Greece, the primary activity of the company falls within the parameters of section 45 (constructions). The company is registered in the sub sector 452.1 (civil engineering projects), 452.3 (roadwork construction), 452.4 (hydraulic construction projects).

It is noted that in the past 5 years the company?s aim have been revised as described in article 2 of the company's statute, to include 3 new targets as described in the relevant article of the statute (4, 5, and 8) as approved by the Ordinary General Meeting on 06.28.1999.

The milestones during the company's development are the following:

During 1980 ? 1985, the company developed great business activity by undertaking large scale infrastructure projects including projects in the industrial areas of ETBA, Larissa, Bolos, Ioannina, Rethinno drain projects as well as other major road construction projects.

During 1986-1993, ATTI-KAT SA noted dynamic expansion by undertaking road construction projects including the Corinth-Tripolis hihgway, Thessaloniki-Katerini highway, land reclamation works (in Katerini, Kilkis, Chania, Crete) and other projects of the Greek Railway Organization, the Public Power Corporation etc. At the same time, the company expanded its business activity in the construction of private and public projects including the construction of Hotel-Bungalows in the area of Galissa in Syros with 281 bed capacity.

During 1994-1998, ATTI-KAT SA continued its dynamic course by undertaking a variety of large scale projects. In 1994, the company became listed on the stock exchange setting up the basis for stable positive development. In 1995, the company acquired degrees and credentials of level G? and above (highest class) that enabled the company to be rewarded for its success in the construction sector. In 1997 the company undertook several projects such as the Larissa by-pass, parts of the Egnatia Odos, parts of the Spata airport, of the new Athens-Thessaloniki highway, and the tunnel and other projects in the area of Platamonas-Leptokaryas. During the five year period from 1994 to 1998 the company collaborated with renowned foreign construction firms and established Groups that have undertaken the most important projects in Greece including projects such as the Aktio-Prebeza bridging, the diversion of Acleloos river, the Thessaloniki metro, Spata airport, Stauvos-Elefsina freeway etc. Furthermore, in the same period the company proceeded with self-financed projects including buildings, offices and stores of the ERRIKOS DYNAN Foundation (Red Cross hospital), the building of Macedonia-Thrace Bank in Bolos, while at the same time the company continued with other important projects including the Athens-Corint highway and specifically the Megara-Kakia Skala and Kinetta-Agioi Theodoroi parts , the Alexadroupolis General Hospital etc. Lastly, ATTI-KAT SA set the appropriate basis in order to expand its business abroad (mainly in Balkans, Cyprus, Middle East) by participating in auctions for the construction of freeways in Bulgaria.

In 1999 the company set up the Management Quality System according to ISO International Standard 9002:1994 and acquired its first Quality Certificate from the acredited organization LLOYD'S REGISTER. In 2004 the Quality System was revised by the new Standard ISO 9001:2000 and the company was certified by the German organization TUV CERT / TUV RHEINLAND GROUP until June, 2007.

In April, 1999 the company acquired 70% of S. SIGALAS S.A. for DRS 2,660,441,536 that is €7,807,605 approximately. The acquisition was financed by share capital increase of ATTI-KAT S.A.

On the 24th of January, 2002 the company acquired 100% of ECHOPLAST S.A.with headquarters in Athens, for euro 2,877,000. The total amount for that purchase came from the company's cash in hand

ATTI-KAT SA proceeded in merger through absorption with ATEMKE SA, S. SIGALAS S.A., ELMEK S.A., and ECHOPLAST S.A., according to the provisions of law N. 2166/1993 and K.N.2190/1920 by decision K2-11158/23.8.2002 of the Ministry of Development.

According to 1862-31/1/2003 decision of the Environment and Public Works deputy Minister the company was ranked 7th class M.E.EP. and on 3rd of February, 2003 it acquired the relevant degree.

The fiscal year 2005 the company undertook the following projects: EGNATIA ODOS: Panayia - Grevena part, from Panayia two-level underpass to klm 6+300 (4.1.1s), amounting to Euro 142,236,587

  • In 2006 the company undertook the following projects: Construction of the speedway with additional projects: Skarfia (National Railway bridge) - beginning of Thermopyles two - level underpass from klm. 1+200 to klm.18+000of the Patras-Thessaloniki hub, of total budget euro 78,452,210.18.
  • Vertical hub of Egnatia odos - Serres - Promaxonas on the part: Strimoniko - two-level underpass Leykona - two level underpass Xristou (60.2.2), of total budget euro 95,598,507,00.

Construction of speedway with additional projects on the part: Sperchios - end of two-level underpass Roditsas of the Patras-Thessaloniki hub, amounting to euro 56,196,975.44.

  • In 2007 the company undertook the following projects: Construction of speedway with additional projects: beginning of two-level underpass Agias Marinas Stylidas -beginning of two-level underpass Raxon of the Patras-Thessaloniki hub part, of total budget 122,935,595.76.
  • Urgent dike projects to protect areas of Attica affected by the Parnitha forest fire, of contract work "Urgent cleaning project of the Sarantapotamos bank" Urgent works on the Agias Triadas flumes - Esxatias - Axarnon- (P1/07) of total budget euro 4,500,000.
  • New contract work for the completion of construction projects in the General Hospital of Katerini, total amounting to euro 15,519,994.28.
  • New contract work for the completion of construction projects in the General Hospital of Corfu, total amounting to euro 17,003,386.40.
